Valentine's Day doesn't have to just be for couples, it can be for friends, kids, parents, and even for your pets!

You also don't have to go crazy and spend a lot of money on those you love, get creative and have fun.

Guest blogger Kati is here today to share some creative ways to celebrate Valentine's Day:

1. Paper Valentines

Just like in grade school!

Giving little cards to your coworkers, classmates, family members, or friends is a cute way to spread joy.

Those with crafty leanings can make their own, and everyone else can give funny store-bought ones.

And remember, as your 1st grade teacher said, give one to everybody in the class.

It's a lot more than just for couples in Australia - we also celebrate independence, I definitely still do that. My boyfriend's coming home from travelling overseas on the day itself so having some me time is completely fine to think of myself as an individual and celebrate that. I will make him a nice home cooked meal at the end of the day though :) he'll be missing that!

I loved this because it had both for single people and couples! I never liked Valentine's Day because it seemed more for just couples but this gave me ideas on what to do if I don't have somebody 👍

Great ideas! If you're single, show your friends (or yourself) some love! And if you're in a coupled up, it really is the thought that counts and not the dollar amount. If you're racking your brain for ideas for him, this link might help too...it's for "the groom," but very applicable: http://www.bluecollarbride.com/grooms-gifts/
