When fighting your corner in an argument, always try to talk about how you feel about the situation, not how your partner is making you feel.2

For example, rather than β€œyou always come home late”, opt for β€œI feel alone at home during the evenings”.2

The β€˜I’ statement sounds much less accusatory, even though it is saying exactly the same thing.
