Let Bygones Be Bygones

Are you holding onto any kind of grudge or hard feelings against your partner? It’s easy to do. When you spring clean your relationship this should be the first thing to go. Purpose to let go of your anger and resentment against your partner for things that happened in the past. It’s as much of a gift to you as it is to your partner.

2

Ask Your Partner What’s Important to Him

From time to time it’s good to check in with your partner. Ask him how he feels about your relationship. Ask him if he feels like his needs are getting met and what’s important to him. It’s good to get this insight. Another plus to this is that many times your partner will ask you the same questions in return.

UPD:

Doing this periodically reinforces a healthy line of communication and ensures both you and your partner feel heard and valued. Engaging in this dialogue helps to prevent misunderstandings and allows you both to adjust your behaviors and attitudes to nurture the relationship further. Remember, it's not only about the big occasions but also the small, everyday interactions that truly strengthen your bond. Active listening is key here; when your partner shares, listen attentively and without judgment. This exchange promotes a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another, setting a solid foundation for the continuous growth of your relationship.

3

Commit to Kindness

Many times the person that we should treat the best doesn’t receive that treatment. We fall into the trap of believing that they’ll put up with our crabbiness because they love us. While that’s usually true, it isn’t a good practice. Make a commitment to treat your partner with kindness. After all, they mean the most to you so they should receive your best.

4

Make Amends for past Hurts

Just like you should get rid of all the feelings of hurt you’ve been carrying from past arguments, your partner should, too. While you can’t control what they do and don’t hold onto, you can help them to let go of their past hurts by following this tip. Ask them if there’s anything you’ve done that he’s still hurting over. If so, ask if there’s anything you can do to help him move past that. Many times, the fact that you care enough to ask will help him to let go of whatever he’s holding onto.

UPD:

Acknowledging your mistakes and showing genuine remorse is essential in this process. It's not just about saying sorry but understanding the impact of your actions. Open up a dialogue and give your partner the opportunity to express their feelings. Listen attentively and validate their emotions without making excuses. This can foster healing and contribute significantly to resetting the relationship dynamics. Remember, making amends may require consistent effort and patience, but it paves the way for rebuilding trust and strengthening your bond.

Start New Traditions

Spring is a great time to start new traditions in your relationship. If things have felt boring or stale for awhile then this is the perfect time to add in new traditions. Maybe you want to have more picnics at your favorite park or make it a goal to vacation seaside each summer. Talk to your partner and see what his input is on this. He may have some good ideas, too.

Add Excitement to Date Night

Date night doesn’t have to be boring. Don’t allow yourself to get sucked into the same old pattern of dinner and movie or whatever you do the most often. While dinner and a movie can be nice, don’t be afraid to branch out. Try new things and enjoy new experiences together. You’ll be amazed at the fun you’ll have.

7

Count Your Blessings

Many times, you can get too focused on the problems in your relationship. It’s an easy enough trap to fall into. But it can have very negative consequences. It makes you feel sad and even hopeless about your relationship. Don’t allow that to happen to you. Kick that attitude to the side and make it a goal to focus on all the positives in your relationship.

These’re 7 things to consider when you spring clean your relationship. Which ones do you plan to do? I’d love to hear from you!

This article is really good, simple and helping. ^^ btw can you send me somehow the photo you added on it?

Common sense which can all be forgotten when in the situation. I think mixing things up a little and stepping out of your comfort zone works wonders. Picnics are cheap!! Play a fun sport together like badminton!! Do things which make you both laugh out load. It's not as difficult as it seems.

It's like less effort is made when you move in together

Yes it is all about talking and there is enough problems in the world. I will say enjoy each other and thats that.

Very good common sense advice. Thank you

Since my bf and I moved in together we immediately fell into the "old married couple routine". No more dates or going out at all. We went to the movies twice since then "a year ago" and nothing else. His reasoning is everything costs money and we can watch a free movie at home and it's cheaper if I cook dinner than going out. Is true we are alway tight on funds although we both work full time. But He has no interest in going out. Any suggestions???

This article is perfect for me right now! My bf and I are going through a rough patch and it might help to do a little spring cleaning

Sometimes the best spring cleaning for a relationship is to let it go

Our relationship has been a bit stale and rocky lately so I am going to try a few of these ideas. We have never been to the movies in three years so it's height time we went I think!
