1

You’re More Sad than Happy

If you spend more time sad than happy, it’s time to end your long distance relationship. You may have your happy moments, but if the time you spend fighting outweighs that, it’s not worth it. You deserve to be with someone who makes you happy more than sad. No relationship is made up of 100% happy moments all the time, but if the bad moments are outweighing the good, this might be one of those signs it’s time to end your long distance relationship.

2

You Don’t Care Anymore

It may sound obvious, but relationships require a lot of work. That being said, long distance relationships require so much more work than a normal relationship. If you don’t want to work for the relationship, or if you’ve given up trying to make it work, it is probably time to end it.

3

You Don’t Try to See Each Other

Sometimes it is next to impossible to see each other in a long distance relationship. All circumstances surrounding a relationship, especially long distance, are different. However, if it is somewhat possible to see each other and you make no effort to do so, your relationship is probably at its wick’s end. For example, if you’re saving up for a train ticket to go see your boyfriend and blow it on a new wardrobe, your relationship probably doesn’t mean very much to you anymore. It might be time to call it quits.

4

One-Sided Effort

My last tip however, goes both ways. If you’re doing everything you can to make your long distance relationship work but your partner isn’t, don’t put up with it. You deserve more than someone who doesn’t put anything into a relationship you’re committed to trying to make work. Relationships are a two-way street, and this is even more important with long distance relationships.

5

Jealousy

Jealousy can become a problem in every relationship, but it’s much more difficult when your significant other is thousands of miles away. Jealousy is an ugly monster, and it can creep its way into your long distance relationship and ruin it. If you find yourself in a fit of jealousy due to anyone tagged in a Facebook picture with your significant other, it’s time to re-evaluate your relationship. Do you want to be in a relationship consumed with jealousy? If not, either find a way to stop being jealous or end your relationship.

Avoiding Future

If you have no plans to close the distance, whether they are very soon and concrete or very far off, it may soon be time to end your long distance relationship. Even if you know you can’t close the distance for a while, you should at least have a plan of how you aim to do so, leaving a little bit of wiggle room. Like the old saying goes, the best laid plans often go awry. If you’re purposely avoiding talking about closing the distance between the two of you, view this as a red flag.

Your Inner Voice

When it comes down to it, you know when your relationship is over better than anyone else. If your intuition is telling you it’s over, it’s over. Even if you’re experiencing none of these signs, you could just know your relationship is over. You know your long distance relationship better than anyone else. Listen to your inner voice if you think your relationship is ending. In the same way, even if you’ve experienced something on this list, that doesn’t necessarily mean your long distance relationship is at an end. You know if and when it’s time to end your long distance relationship.

Hi everybody! I am too in a long distance relationship for 1,5 year. He leaves in a country next to mine. I met him on my first visit there. I have visited him four times and he has never come here. I hate that. We used to be in love, talk everyday, text all the time. Now we talk 2-3 times a week. It's so hard to keep it alive, we fight, we have our own problems, we are both busy. When I complain he disappears, when I am angry with him, I disappear. I love him so much and despite all my worries, whenever I decide to leave him, he never let's me. I try to feel relaxed and focus on other things, because I believe that no one knows what will happen with us? Any advice from you girls??

My husband and I were in a long distance relationship for 5 years. He is here in Cali and I was in the Philippines. We saw each other for 3 weeks every year. It was hard but if you put effort in it, everything will be fine. Trust, love and icommunication. We now live together here in Cali. Good luck!

I'm in a long distance relationship right now. Yes it's challenging. But when you truly love each other, then you will try to make it work. My boyfriend has no way of coming up to visit in the near future, but I know he's always there no matter how hard it is. Distance shouldn't matter. And I hope no one ever has to go the conclusion of wanting to end it, because LDR are special. You knew that no matter how far it is, you want to make it work. That's the difference between LDR and a normal relationship

I've been in long distance relationship for 3 years.. We see each other only in summer.. If we count the day that we spent together it'll be about only 3 months.. 3 years of 3 months, unbelievable huh.. But we know everything about each other, even our parents, so don't think it's short time.. I know it's hard to be alone, and sometimes i almost give up, but there's a thing called a LOVE.. Everytime i think about break up, his most beautiful sides come to my head and i smile and feel happy.. We still have 5 years go ahead.. That'll be tough, but when i'm with him i feel safe and he made me think everything will be alright.. And i believe him and this relationship will lasts forever.. Thank you for reading this, it's nice to share with women about my love life..

@darlene i am at the same situation as urs. and i just had a talk w my boyfriend about this. and it turned out sad. at the moment, i dont want to think abt it. however, when the relationship isnt going anywhere as we expected, what other choice that we have to offer right?

Communication is most important in long distance relationships. It doesn't matter how it is you communicate, make an effort in any way you feel comfortable of "talking". If you don't speak often, then it might not be best to continue.

My guy is in the Navy and currently in Virginia. I'm in Australia. It really takes hard work. We have our bad moments but always try to work things out. I believe that if two people really put their relationship a priority then anything is possible.
