1

You Can’t Get over Them

When you know that you’ve met the love of your life but you’re not with them, it’s nearly impossible to get over them. You know that that person is out there and you know who they are, but you can’t be with that person. Plus, nothing really big probably happened to end your relationship, making it even harder to get over the love of your life.

2

Nothing Really Happened in the Breakup

It’s so much easier to get over someone when they’ve done something wrong to you. Whether you were cheated on, or you got into a huge fight, or you just really didn’t get along as well as you thought you did, it’s much easier to get over someone knowing that it didn’t work. When you’ve met the love of your life and nothing really happened to break you up, it’s nearly impossible to move on!

3

You’ll Date People Briefly

There is nothing worse than awkward, uncomfortable first dates here and there, but that’s what you’ll be subjected to after meeting the love of your life. You’ll try to give other people a chance but it’s hard to get serious when you know there’s someone out there who’s perfect for you.

4

Nothing else Feels Right

Maybe you’ll eventually settle into a relationship, and while it’s fine, it just doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel like your relationship with the love of your life did. That’s such a hard thing to come to terms with, isn’t it? All love feels different, but nothing’s felt right since you met the love of your life.

5

Love Purgatory

Love purgatory is the worst. It means that you know who the love of your life is, but you’re not together, and there’s nothing you can do to get together. There’s nothing worse than knowing who the love of your life is but not being able to be with them. Life isn’t always a romantic comedy waiting for you to make a big, grand gesture for the love of your life. Life isn’t always that easy.

Everyone Thinks You’re Crazy

No one understands how you could be so hung up on one person. You don’t really understand it either, but that’s beside the point. People set you up with great dates and while they’re good on paper, they’re not good for you. People may start to think you’re crazy, but let them!

7

You’re Hopeful

Just because it hasn’t worked out now doesn’t mean that it won’t work out in the future. The timing may have been off before, but that doesn’t mean that in a few years you won’t reconnect and fall in love again! Being hopeful is a great quality to have, especially in love!

Have you met the love of your life? Was the timing right or wrong? Tell me your story in the comments!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I first laid eyes on him in year 10 science and as soon as I saw him I had a weird gut feeling he was going to be part of my life and have an impact on me as a person I just didn't know if it was for good or for the bad. And i had a feeling that he was gonna cross my path and leave his mark and I was right he did leave his mark. he's the love of my life. And everyone's going to think I'm crazy because I'm still young and I've got my whole life ahead of me and I'm already saying I know who the love of my life is. Yes it does sound crazy but nothing make sense without him, and when I am with him everything clicks into place and nothing in the world matters and I feel at home and safe and I feel that with him Is where I belong. I've tried getting over him and for the past 4 years I feel like I'm putting up a facade with my past relationships. It just doesn't feel real like I'm just in a shell when I'm in these relationships. But when I'm with him I'm a live and the world feels right again, I just can't be with him because he's in a toxic relationship that's always on and off every 5 mins and it's hard to see him hurt all the time and I wish I could do something but I can't no matter how much I try

I met him but we've never been together and it's quiet impossible but maybe one day :/

me too, but how can you be hopeful for the future about it? can anyone explain this to me?

Wow, this couldn't have come at a better time... I'm going thru this right now...

My boyfriend broke up with me a month ago and I've found it rather difficult to move on. When I first met him, my gut told me that he was the one. I fell in love with him and I still love him. I want to let go but every time I try my body seems to reject it. You article has helped me a lot so thank you.

there's a guy I really like but I'm moving to a different country and its a 12 hour drive from here. we both really adore each other but are too young to do anything about it. does anyone have any suggestions of how to work through this one?

Tris articule is in the elephantjournal of you're going to use their work at least have the decency to give them the credit.

The 1st time I saw him... I knew he was it!!!

Definitely wrong timing. He's 30 and I'm 17. We both adore each other, but know we can't be together and it hurts like hell

Wrong. 😩 I'm currently in a relationship that just doesn't feel quite real to me. Like I'm almost faking but a lot of it is genuine. Yet, I cheat and lie. Because he's not the love of my life like his friend I didn't even date a year prior was. It was like crackhead love. Just so intense and addicting that it was stupid. And it was fast! The beginning and end of my time with him was so fleeting that the dates were no more than 2 months apart. And any time that I got the opportunity to see him- somehow- it was like being reborn and thrown exactly to the way I felt when I first saw him. It's mental, and I think I would rather be in this stable and comfortable love that I have with my current boyfriend. Rather than feeling like I'm constantly dying.
