Clearing the Air

Before getting blue, it’s good to make sure feelings are out in the open. Whenever I have a crush on someone, I take the upfront approach. They say rejection is better than not knowing, and it’s true. If they don’t feel the same way, then I can take steps to move on, instead of wasting time wondering!

2

Keeping Your Distance

It might be hard to do at first, but giving yourself some space from your crush is one of the best ways to clear your head. I try to avoid seeing them at all, and if I have to, I keep things friendly but distant. Trying to stay their BFF will not help those feelings to go away, so resist the urge to meet them for coffee.

3

Stop Stalking Social Media

One of the most painful things is to see your crush day in and day out on social media. Whenever I’m trying to get over someone, something as simple and unfollowing their Insta can really make a difference. Not having their cute face pop up on Snapchat is a relief and will help make things easier.

4

Hanging with Your Friends

Even though you didn’t “break up” with someone, it probably feels like you did. I always lean on the support of my squad to help me get through the tough times. Hanging with the girls is a great distraction from negative feelings.

5

Jamming out

There’s no power like when you have a new playlist – so bust a move to Beyonce’s Sorry and tell your crush bye! I always turn to music when I’m sad because it empowers me and get me moving, which is also a great distraction.

Treating Yourself

I always use heartbreak as an excuse to have a little “me time.” I love going to go get a dessert somewhere special or treating myself to a pedicure. Baths and candles are always good for the soul, too. Focusing on yourself will help you forget about your crush.

Meeting New People

You know the saying there’s more fish in the sea? Well, it is true, even if it doesn’t seem like it. The only way to know is to put get out and meet new people. I don’t ever try and look for love, but knowing it can happen is always exciting. Remember: you deserve someone who wants you back, and nothing less!

These are just a few ways that can help you move past your unrequited love. While it may sting at first, there are always positives waiting on the other side. Thanks for reading and feel free to share! I would also love to hear your advice!
