7 Things You Can Learn about Him from His Texts ...

If you've been lucky enough to get your crush's phone number, there are a few important things you can learn about him from his texts. Technology has become such a huge part of our lives, so the way that he communicates with you via cellphone can tell you a lot. That means you should pay close attention to your text messages. Here are some of the most important things you can learn about him from his texts:

1

If He Replies at All

Some guys don't text very often, but if you always see that he's read your message and hasn't bothered to reply, he doesn't care very much about you. You shouldn't have to send him ten messages before he gives you one tiny response. One of the biggest things you can learn about him from his texts is whether or not he's interested in talking to you. Even if he's shy, he'd figure out a way to reply to your messages if he really liked you.

UPD:

Another important factor to consider when analyzing a guy's texting habits is the content of his messages. If he only responds with short, one-word answers or rarely initiates conversations, it could be a sign that he's not that interested in you. On the other hand, if he takes the time to ask you questions and engages in meaningful conversations, it shows that he values your communication and wants to get to know you better. Additionally, pay attention to the timing of his replies. If he consistently takes hours or even days to respond, it could indicate that you're not a priority in his life. These are all important things to consider when trying to understand a guy's level of interest through his texts.

2

If He Has Good Grammar

Does his grammar make you cringe? You can find out just how smart he is by seeing if he uses "then" when he was supposed to use "than." You might be the type of person who doesn't care about how smart your boyfriend is, but if you're turned on by intelligence, his grammar can make or break how you feel about him.

UPD:

Absolutely, no one's perfect, and the odd typo shouldn't send you running for the hills. However, consistent mistakes can be a red flag. It's not just about pedantry—good grammar often reflects clear thinking and attention to detail. If he's crafting his messages with care, it shows that he values communication and respects the person he's speaking to. After all, effort is sexy, and nailing the difference between "you're" and "your" could be the subtle clue that he's a keeper.

3

If He Replies Quickly

Some people lead busy lives, so you shouldn't be too upset if it takes him a few hours to answer your text messages. However, if it only takes him seconds to reply to you, despite what he's doing, then he values what you have to say. When he replies quickly, it shows you that you can rely on him.

UPD:

In addition to replying quickly, the tone and content of his messages can also reveal a lot about his feelings towards you. If he uses a lot of emojis and playful language, it could indicate that he is comfortable and enjoys talking to you. On the other hand, if his messages are short and to the point, it could mean that he is not as invested in the conversation. Pay attention to the frequency and consistency of his messages as well. If he consistently initiates conversations and responds promptly, it could be a sign that he is truly interested in you. However, if he only responds sporadically or takes a long time to reply, it could be a red flag that he is not as interested.

4

If He Gives Short Answers

If you type paragraphs, does he respond with a message of equal length, or does he write back, "K?" If he doesn't bother to give you a reasonable response by text, then he's going to behave in the same way when you have a face to face conversation with him. If he liked you, he would keep the conversation going instead of simply saying 'lol.'

UPD:

Communication is a two-way street, and engagement is key. If his texts are consistently short or he doesn't elaborate on topics you've brought up, it's a telling sign that he might not be that into the conversation—or worse, he's not that into you. Investment in dialogue is important, and someone who's interested will make the effort. A string of one-word answers isn't just frustrating; it's indicative of a lack of effort and could suggest he won't be much different in real-life interactions. Keep in mind, his texting habits could be a window into his communication style overall.

5

If He Acts Differently

Some people are more comfortable using text, because they don't have to look you in the eye. However, if your crush acts completely differently over text than he does in real life, you should be worried. Only one of his personalities can be the real one.

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

If He Gossips

Does he send you screenshots of his conversations with friends? You might be happy that he's opening up to you, but you should be wary instead. If he's showing you conversations with his friends, then he might show those friends the private conversations he's been having with you. Remember that whenever you text someone, your words are there in print for everyone to see.

7

If He'd Rather Call

Everybody loves to text, because it's quick and convenient. If your crush would rather call you up to have a conversation on the phone, then he likes hearing your voice. A guy that would spend hours talking to you on the phone instead of sending a few texts back and forth is a real keeper.

Pay close attention to the messages your phone receives, because it can tell you a lot about the people you're speaking to. Do you text your crush?

UPD:

Texting is one of the most popular forms of communication in today’s world. It’s a great way to stay in touch with your friends and family, but it can also be a great way to learn more about the person you’re interested in. By paying close attention to the messages your crush sends you, you can learn a lot about him.

If he’d rather call you up and have a conversation on the phone instead of sending a few texts back and forth, then he really likes hearing your voice. This is a great sign that he’s interested in you and wants to get to know you better.

Another thing you can learn from his texts is how often he responds. If he’s always quick to reply, then he’s definitely interested in having a conversation with you. If he takes a while to respond, then he might be busy or not as interested.

@Hilary Lee He's somewhat into u. If he was head over heels he'd answer right away no matter the occasion. Men are simple creatures.. If they like u they will show it. If there is distance it's a red flag! :)

Hillary lee you are lucky to be seeing someone :-)

Really true. Enjoyed this article. Thanks

This was a good article all good points! I'm glad I found a good man :)

Okay ladies, I have a question! I love the article, but my "crush" so to speak, texts back a few hours later (I know he's a busy guy) and we usually have great conversations leading up to our first 3 dates that were great.... So we've been talking for almost 2 months and been "seeing each other" for 1. Lately it's been more sparse (mostly because busy lives and holiday season) but there are times we go 2-3 days without getting a response or him initiating. But when we do, it's right back to where we left off with sweet whatever's and what not.. Any advice?

this is so true, thanks.
