3. You Can't Lie on Camera (Usually)

Use Facetime.

There are dozens of ways you can see your partner face to face, through your computers, your tablets, your phones.

You don't even necessarily need a webcam, although keep in mind that most newer laptops have them built-in right out of the store.

These days, the excuse of never having access to a camera rarely flies.2

If it's an ongoing excuse, be suspicious.

I like these tips. However, I have learned over my years of dating (on or off- line) that looking up someone, your "person of interest", it's good to check criminal background too. My mother started doing that every time I mentioned a new name, male or female. She told me she was watching out for me but I thought it was embarrassing and a little "crazy-stalker-ish" too. After finding the same results while dating a few that had a bad criminal history I believed my mother. I then tried her "method of madness" and started filtering my choices based on criminal background along with some of her standards (with a dash of my own flare) and have nothing but the best results. I even do it for other friends and family now! ;)

Just mentioned the post on Twitter
My boyfriend and I met on YouTube 2.5 years ago. We fell for each other quickly and luckily we were both very honest with each other from the very beginning. We both consider ourselves very lucky. :)
