If you think that you're going to be an awkward date and are trying to avoid that, why not plan out some conversations? Practice

The best way to defeat awkward dating is to practice not being awkward. Talk to yourself in the mirror, have a conversation and even practice your smile. For real ladies, this works wonders!

5

Get to Know Him before the Date

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Hey heather I'm meant to be going on a /sort of/ date today and I've never had one before! I only met the guy a couple of weeks ago and we only started to get to know each other this past week, but I'm really nervous and worried (and sort of worried that I won't like him as much as I thought I did last week as I haven't seen him just texted this week!) and it would be really helpful if you could give me some tips! I'm really shy and quite nervous anyway, and would also love some tips on how to tell my parents I'm going on a date :/ thanks so much! xo

I agree with comfortable clothes. I always thought I didn't feel confident at large events because it just wasn't "me". But one night dressed in something really comfy that I looked great in, and suddenly I felt super confident! I didn't feel nervous around the large groups of people anymore. Feeling comfy and knowing you look good seriously boosts your confidence level more than you think.

I'm going out with my 4th grade best friend. We are going to a movie Saturday and I want to kiss him but he's never had a girlfriend before and I don't want to pressure him. Also, I remember a lot about him from being best friends in 4th grade but I don't want to be like so how's coco? (his dog) and have him say he died or have him be totally freaked out. Could someone please give me some pointers? I don't want to screw this one up. P.s. I'm in 7th grade soon to be 8th grader.

I've told my parents now but we've moved our first date a week later to tomorrow please please please help! xo

@heather please help
