There are several behaviours that cause relationship disorders. If you have ever been in one at any point in your life, you know just how hard relationships can be! Even the very best ones take a lot of work to succeed, and some of this work is in identifying behaviours that could be problematic and working to stamp them out of your life for good. Sometimes we can’t help the way we are, but there are certain actions and attitudes that people do that, even though it might not be their intention, can lead to some really big problems in your love life. To get a feel of what we’re really talking about, here are some classic behaviours that cause relationship disorders.
1. Avoiding Problems
One of the biggest behaviours that cause relationship disorders is avoiding issues. Pushing a problem to the side and ignoring it might seem like a good idea at the time, but it will only fester and continue to build up in the background until one day it bursts out at the most random or inappropriate time. The best way to solve a problem in a relationship is to address it early and nip it in the bud before it becomes a big shadow hovering over you and your partner. The longer you leave it untouched, the more potentially disastrous it could be.
2. Negativity from Nothing
Creating negative energy out of nothing is something that happens in relationships when things just don’t feel right. It can happen when people make too big of a deal out of little things, rather than letting them slide and seeing that they mean very little in the grand scheme of things. You should always be thinking big picture before you choose to pick a fight. Is your partner not replying to your text in a timely fashion really a good enough reason to cause a week long argument in the house? No, didn’t think so!
3. Love over Everything
It’s a sad fact that it doesn’t just take being in love to make a relationship work. You can be absolutely head over heels for someone in a romantic sense, but if you can’t make things work as friends and partners in life as well, then it is never going to last. Don’t stay with someone just because you can’t resist them in a physical sense, or you are addicted to them like a drug, you need to always make sure that your relationship is in a healthy place when compared to others.
4. Expecting Perfection
We are all human beings, and we all make mistakes! If you go into a relationship expecting every single element of it to be perfect and a fairy tale, then you are always going to end up disappointed and single. Being in love and in a stable partnership doesn’t mean finding the perfect human, it means being able to accept their flaws and still be happy together!
