There are dozens of different types of sexual orientations. Being gay or straight aren't your only two options. That's why it's perfectly fine if you have no idea what to call yourself. Eventually, you'll figure it out, and even if you don't, why do you really need a label? Of course, since you should be as educated as possible, here are a few different types of sexual orientations that exist: ## 1. It's when a person is only attracted to people of the same sex. It's when boys like boys and girls like girls. ## 2. Demisexual ![human action,hair,person,black,black and white,](https://img.allw.mn/content/bu/ce/incd0_human-action_hair_person_black_black-and-white_400x250.gif) This refers to people who aren't able to feel a sexual connection with someone until they feel a romantic connection with them. That means that they need to become friends before they can become sexually involved. ## 3. It's also known as being "straight." ## 4. Of course, it doesn't mean they're attracted to everyone they meet. ## 5. Why yes, sexual attraction and romantic attraction are two completely different things! ## 6. Pansexual ![human action,person,black,black and white,photograph,](https://img.allw.mn/content/i5/lv/uhpwi_human-action_person_black_black-and-white_photograph_500x290.gif) This refers to a person who is attracted to any sexual orientation or gender identity. Believe it or not, this is one of the most common sexual orientations out there. ## 7. Demiromantic ![human action,facial expression,person,woman,photography,](https://img.allw.mn/content/rr/ck/kpujs_human-action_facial-expression_person_woman_photography_500x230.gif) "A demiromantic does not experience romantic attraction unless they have already formed a strong emotional bond with the person." ## 8. Lesbian ![image,person,mouth,screenshot,human body,](https://img.allw.mn/content/vw/at/tw08h_image_person_mouth_screenshot_human-body_500x264.gif) This simply refers to homosexuals who identify as women. If you're a girl who only likes other girls, then you're a lesbian. ## 9. Asexual ![black,image,darkness,screenshot,THE,](https://img.allw.mn/content/g1/ul/qhn95_black_image_darkness_screenshot_the_500x282.gif) This refers to people who don't feel any type of sexual attraction at all. Of course, they're still capable of being in healthy relationships. ## 10. However, it's mostly seen as an umbrella term. That means you can use it to describe anyone that's a part of the LGBTQ community. ## 11. Autosexual ![person,muscle,sense,finger,](https://img.allw.mn/content/w9/bo/ou37c_person_muscle_sense_finger_500x281.gif) This refers to someone who prefers to have sex with themselves over having sex with others. If masturbating is all you want to do, you could be an autosexual. ## 12. Aromantic ![human action,hair,person,image,girl,](https://img.allw.mn/content/lb/wv/araek_human-action_hair_person_image_girl_500x220.gif) This refers to people who don't feel any type of romantic attraction at all. However, they can still feel sexual attraction. ## 13. Gyneromantic ![human action,hair,person,kiss,nose,](https://img.allw.mn/content/ss/og/oi73x_human-action_hair_person_kiss_nose_500x281.gif) This is the "romantic attraction to female-identified people, regardless of one’s gender." ## 14. Gynecophilia ![human action,hair,person,face,kiss,](https://img.allw.mn/content/r0/xe/u1x4c_human-action_hair_person_face_kiss_500x280.gif) This isn't necessarily an attraction towards females. It's just an attraction towards femininity, which can appear in both men and women. ## 15. Omnisexual ![human action,person,black and white,mouth,monochrome photography,](https://img.allw.mn/content/ry/e7/awank_human-action_person_black-and-white_mouth_monochrome-photography_500x250.gif) This refers to someone who feels an equal amount of attraction towards everyone. They don't actually prefer one gender over another. ## 16. Skoliksexual ![human action,hair,person,blond,kiss,](https://img.allw.mn/content/lw/lt/urnab_human-action_hair_person_blond_kiss_500x220.gif) This refers to people who are attracted to non-binary individuals instead of cisgender individuals. ## 17. Spectrasexual _ This refers to "the sexual attraction to various sexes or genders." There are so many different sexual orientations that it's hard to keep track of them all. Of course, now you know a little bit more about each of them! Now you can educate your friends, so that the world is more informed about the way human sexuality works.
