How to Bulletproof Your Heart ...

Holly

Heartbreak is inevitable. Even though you can't avoid it, you can avoid getting hurt way too often. You just have to adjust your way of thinking about relationships, and remember to always keep one eye open. Here are some of the simplest ways to bulletproof your heart so that you don't end up getting hurt one too many times:

1

Have High Standards

If you think poorly of yourself, then you're going to settle for any guy that comes along. That's why you need to have confidence and realize that you deserve the very best. While no man is perfect, you should have high standards when it comes to who you decide to date.

2

Don't Become Biased

Even if the person you've decided to date seems perfect at first, you can't become so enamored by them that you're blind to their flaws as time passes. You need to make sure that your brain doesn't become so clouded by love that you ignore all of the red flags that pop up.

3

Wait to Get Physical

Having sex can change a relationship. Typically, once you sleep with someone, your feelings for them will deepen. If you know you'd be more upset about breaking up with a guy that you've slept with than someone that has only kissed you, you should wait a while to engage in intercourse. Once you know that he's truly right for you, then you can have all the sex you'd like.

4

Wait to Open up

It's never fun to lose someone who knows you well. If you're not sure if your current partner is going to stick around, don't open up to him about all of your dark secrets. If you do, and then he leaves you, you're going to be more upset than you originally would've been. Wait until you're serious about your relationship to go into detail about things you don't want anyone else to know.

5

Know What You Want

If you don't sit down and really think about what type of person you want to be with, you could end up with someone that doesn't fit you at all. When that happens, heartbreak will be on the horizon. That's why you should make it your mission to learn about your wants and needs, so you don't waste your time with a man who isn't right for you.

Famous Quotes

Men in general judge more from appearances than from reality. All men have eyes, but few have the gift of penetration.

Niccolò Machiavelli
6

Don't Lie to Him

Be honest with your partner about what you want from him. Don't mention marriage on the first date, but if you've been together for a while, tell him that you can see a future with him. If he doesn't agree, or if he doesn't want to get married or have children like you do, then you can end the relationship before your feelings for each other deepen.

7

Know the Statistics

Unfortunately, most relationships fail. You're probably going to date a few boys before you find the one you're going to spend the rest of your life with. If you remember this, hopefully your heart won't hurt as badly when you break up with your first love. Be optimistic by remembering the real one for you will come around eventually.

No matter how hard you try to bulletproof your heart, heartbreak is inevitable. However, you can always avoid getting hurt more often than you need to. What have you done to protect your heart?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Also, don't act desperate cause guys can tell. Let a guy kiss your ass and then consider your options.

I can't tell him what's happened to me in the past, so he knows what I've been through?

In the tug a war between your heart and your gut, listen to your gut. It's there to protect your heart! I didn't and I paid the price.

Point number four about waiting to reveal too many secrets is wise. A mean-spirited person would only be too happy to dish that dirt if things turned sour.

Bitches now a days need to stop giving it away so easy to every other guy they meet... It is just pathetic

@megan exactly, that's why we should think with our minds instead of our hearts. As I said already.

Could have read this before. And now, I'm suffering. 😢. Lesson learned.

My life is not good but I can use it somebody help me U can do to that

@Francesca Rose it is good not to wear your heart on your sleeve.
