1. You'll Want to Give up Your Free Time

Relationships can take up a huge chunk of your time. When you're with the wrong person, you'll come up with excuses not to see them. But once you've found the right person, you'll rearrange your entire schedule just to get an extra moment with them. Work, school, and family won't stop you from spending time with them, because you'll find a way around it all.

2. You'll Want to Go on Adventures--or Just Stay Home

When you find your true love, you'll want to take vacations together, you'll want to see movies together, you'll want to see the whole world together. However, despite all of the things you want to do, you're still perfectly happy on the nights you spend on the couch watching TV. Every moment with them is special, no matter where you are.

Frequently asked questions

3. You'll Want to Shower Him with Gifts

You should marry a man who never expects you to buy him gifts, even though you love to do so. Whenever you go to the store, you'll have the urge to buy him something, because all you want to do is make him happy.

4. You'll Want to Show Him off to Your Friends

It's annoying when your Facebook friends brag about how special their partner is and post pictures of them kissing, but you should marry a man you want to show off to the world. You can't be with someone you're embarrassed of holding hands with in public. You need to be with someone who you'll have to force yourself to stop bragging about to your friends, because they're sick of hearing his name.

5. You'll Want to Follow Your Dreams

You should spend the rest of your life with someone who encourages you to follow your dreams. If you feel the urge to give up your dreams for him, you might assume it's a good thing, but it's actually horrible. Find someone who supports you and makes you believe you can achieve anything.

6. You'll Want to Be the Best Person You Can Be

You want to marry a man who makes you want to be the best person you can be, even though he loves you just the way you are. Even though he loves your weight, you want to exercise often so you can live a long life with him. Even though he likes your moves in the bedroom, you'll come up with new ones to keep him happy all the time.

7. You'll Want to Live a Long Life

Way too many people in the world hate their lives. However, if you're with the right person, you'll want to live for a very long time, because it means that you'll get to spend more moments with your true love. Plus, you'll learn to appreciate the universe a whole lot more, because it's the reason why your partner exists.

While there's a lot more to consider before you marry someone, like your financial situations and moral issues, you shouldn't spend the rest of your life with someone unless they make you want to do these 7 things. Does your partner make you want to do any or all of them?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I have been married had another long term relationship and I never believed in finding the one. My thought was love the one you are with and settle and was never happy. Then at 39 I met the man that changed everything. I want to do all that lost and more, he is my soulmate, best friend and the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with. There is someone for everyone that says something from a former skeptic.

My husband! We're still goofy in love after 22 years and 4 kids!

Men feel the same way? I can see me here described when I love.

You made me cry, that's exactly how I feel!

@Beryl Stokes, yes, you are an inspiration. I'm turning 49 and still single and happy. But maybe one day I will meet a great life partner. I just hope I'm not too set in my ways to be a good partner, if and when the time comes.

Yoooo dis here iz a truths!

@themisshoney69 . Of course you will find him one day ! Just believe that! I found mine when I was not looking for anyone at 50. Having survived a divorce and been on my own for 12 years I was quite happy on my own. One minute I was happy on my own two feet ,the next I was like " oh,oh! This is it "! Never questioned it- he was going to be there the rest of my life. We married after 25 years but only because of inheritance tax!
