7 Reasons Why Dating in Your 30s is Better ...

Remember that funny video about ladies’ night out in your 20s vs. your 30s; well, dating in your 20s vs. dating in your 30s is just like the comparisons in that video! You just have a different perspective on life and want different things when you’re older and more mature. When you’re dating in your 30s, you just don’t have time to waste on someone who doesn’t have the time for you. Continue reading to see if you agree with my list of reasons why dating is better in your 30s…

1

You Know Who You Are

When you’re in your 20s, you’re still trying to find yourself and figure out what you want in life, which is why dating in your 30s feels better. You know more about yourself and who you are. You don’t have that complex that you need a partner to complete you or support you. Sharing it with someone would be nice, but you are secure with where you are and feel accomplished that you did it on your own.

2

You Know Who You’re Looking for

Not only do you know who you are, but you know the type of partner you’re looking for as well. You’re not into playing games, having one night stands, or getting hit on with one liners. When you’re dating in your 30s, you’re looking for someone who is more compatible, knows what s/he wants in life, and is perhaps looking to settle down. You know what you want and you’re ready to go out there and get it!

3

Better Date Options

When you’re in your 30s, you tend to develop a more refined taste in men and in the type of dates you want to go on. Plus, you usually have more money than you did in your 20s, so now instead of eating at a fast food restaurant and renting a DVD, you go on dates to film festivals and wineries. You’re more culturally aware of your options and are ready to explore greater opportunities than when you were in your early 20s.

4

More Independent

In your 30s, you are more independent in your relationship and don’t feel the need to check in with each other every half hour. If s/he doesn’t answer your text or phone call right away, you’re not worried or concerned about what s/he might be doing instead. You trust your partner and are more secure in your relationship.

5

You Know when to Walk

In your 30s, now that you no longer have that “I need a man or woman” complex, you can decipher between a good relationship and one you shouldn’t waste your time on. You can spot a jerk boyfriend or bitchy girlfriend a mile away! There is no second chance here or let’s get back together; you are a grown woman and aren’t into dating someone who puts you down or uses you. You know from date one that this guy or girl isn’t getting a phone call!

Famous Quotes

To give oneself earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom.

You’re Not Afraid to Be Single

Realizing that it’s okay to be single can really help when you’re on the dating scene. When you have come to this conclusion, you are no longer running after the wrong person and choosing dates that have no value. You’re dating because you want to be with this person, not because you want the relationship status.

7

You’re Okay with Taking Things Slow

In your 20s, everything seems to go so fast when you’re dating; one minute you’re sharing your first kiss and the next thing you know, s/he is taking up space in your apartment. However, when you’re dating in your 30s, you’re more relaxed and not in a rush to get to the next step. You’re okay with taking things slow; you both have your own place and there’s no need for him/her to move in just yet!

What are some things you like better about dating in your 30s vs. dating in your 20s?

Great post!

I'm 21 and have a bf but I agree on this haha

...and you get to date men in braces and bowler hats!

I'll be 30 in a little more than a year. If I'm still unfortunately single by 30, then my Mr. Right better show up and make me his wife within the next 5 years. Or else he won't receive as much love as he would've had he shown up sooner.
