When it comes to enjoying a fun and healthy sex life, it doesn’t always come down to your body and the physical actions that you make. Sex is half in the mind, half in the body, and if your mind isn’t in the mood, it’s never going to be great. Sometimes, and you might not even realise that this is the case, there are actually physical problems in the décor and design of your bedroom area that can be at fault. If you are experiencing a few issues with your partner and can’t quite figure out why, here are some problems in your bedroom that you should sort out for a better sex life.
A room that is filled with mess and clutter is never going to be a room that inspires romance, don’t you agree? That dirty pile of laundry in the corner is probably having a direct negative impact on yours or your partner’s libido, so make the effort to spring clean and have it spotless. There is a reason why hotel room are so associated with nooky!
2. Family Photos
A few photos here and there is totally normal, but think about it, do you really want to be getting down and dirty as a portrait of your parents stares down at you from the bedside table? Have a think about the positioning and amount of family snaps that you have across your bedroom. Might they be better off in the living room?
If you have a television in your bedroom, take it out immediately! Think about all the hours you spend together in bed watching some boxset or reality show, those hours could be spent doing something much more fun if the lure of the TV wasn’t present. There is such a thing as too much Netflix and chill it turns out!
Make your bedroom a smartphone and tablet free zone to encourage more real interaction with each other. You don’t have the chance to get amorous if you are both laying in bed playing Candy Crush or Angry Birds. Leave the phones at the door and you might find that you come up with other games to play instead!
A few food items here and there can be fun when used in a sexy way, but when it comes to straight up eating your dinner in bed, that’s a no-no. Firstly, you don’t want to have to contend with crumbs, and secondly, eating in that position can lead to some serious bloating. Neither of those outcomes sound particularly sexy to me!
If you can help it, don’t turn your bedroom into an at home office. The last thing you want to do to cultivate a sexy atmosphere is bring your work into your bedroom. Keeping those two things separate is not only good for your sex life but it’s also good for your mental health.
