There are definitely some signs it's time for him to meet your parents. When you are in the throes of a new relationship, it can often feel like you are on top of the world. In these early but perfect days as a couple, it might be fair to say that some girls don’t want to do anything to rock the boat or change the dynamic, and that can often lead to not introducing your new guy to your parents. This is totally fine in the very early stages of a new romance, but once things start to head in a more serious direction, it’s time to bite the bullet and make the meeting happen! 1

Stability

If you are feeling more stable in this relationship than you ever have before, then you can be confident in the fact that introducing him to your parents isn’t going to be enough to rock the boat. If you are as settled as you can possibly be at this stage in the partnership, then the only logical next step is to start including him in wider family thoughts. Stability is one of the biggest signs it's time for him to meet your parents.

2

He Wants to

If he has started to express an interest in meeting your parents, then that should really be all the sign that you need! He is physically showing you that he is ready and willing to take your relationship to the next level, and believe us, that can be a rare thing amongst men! If you are lucky enough to bag one of the ones who is excited about potential in-laws, then don’t let it go to waste!

3

Moving in Talks

If you are already at the stage where you are discussing moving in with one another, then you owe it to your parents to let them meet the person who you are going to making such a big life decision with. Think about it, if you had a kid, you wouldn’t want them moving in with somebody you have never even met, so why should it be different in your case?

4

Socially Integrated

If he is already fully integrated into your friendship and social circles, then there is no reason that he shouldn’t be integrated into your family also. You have obviously felt him important and trustworthy enough to show him to your peers, so what is holding you back from doing the same with your parents? If your friends like him and approve, then it’s a pretty good bet that your folks will too.

5

You’ve Met His Parents

You’ve already met his parents, so the longer you keep him away from yours, the more he might start to think that you are holding back on the relationship, or that you don’t think he is worthy of being introduced. In relationships, it’s pretty much an unspoken rule that as soon as one set of parents are added to the mix, the other set needs to follow suit as quickly as possible to avoid tension!
