Once you get sick of going to the movies and mall every Friday night, there are plenty of unconventional date ideas you can try out. While it's fun to do traditional things, like get ice cream together, you don't want to do the same thing too many times in a row. It's more exciting to try something new, which is why you should test out these unconventional date ideas:
1. Get into Games
Bowling and miniature golf aren't the only games you can play with your partner. Try out laser tag or paintball. They'll get your heart racing, and will help you develop team work. If it's not your style, then go to a batting range to play baseball, or to a driving range to hit golf balls. Out of all of the unconventional date ideas that exist, trying out a new game is the most fun, because you get to be competitive.
2. Travel through Time
Find out what your city or state has to offer. Are there any restaurants with a certain theme? With a little searching, you can find a '50s themed restaurant. There are also multiple Medieval Times restaurants around, which allows you to eat a meal whilst watching a jousting tournament. Anything out of the ordinary could be a blast!
3. Interactive Theater
Wherever you are, there are aspiring actors. Find a theater that holds shows where the performers interact with their audience. If you have the chance to take part in a murder mystery, don't pass it up. You don't have to be nervous about the show, because your partner will be right there with you. Just being around them turns any evening into a fun one!
4. Beautiful Bird Watching
Instead of aimlessly walking down the block, find a forest where you can examine the wildlife. Bring a pair of binoculars and a book about the birds in your state. If you can't find a location that works, then admire the different dog breeds you see. There's nothing wrong with puppy watching--you might even get to pet one.
5. Take a Tour
There are tours for almost everything. You can learn how your favorite drink is made, and see the machines that produce your favorite candy. You might even get free samples at the end. Who said learning can't be fun?
6. Something Scary
Couples go to scary movies because it's a good excuse to hold hands and cuddle. But once you've seen all the horror films you can take, head to a haunted house or even a psychic. The experience can be even scarier than sitting in front of a screen, but don't worry, because your partner will protect you.
7. Act like a Little Kid
Don't you miss all the fun you had as a kid? You can be in a serious relationship, but still act immature every once in a while. Grab your favorite childhood board game, some Legos, finger paint, or Play-doh. Set up a little play area, and enjoy reliving your memories together.
You shouldn't stick to doing the same thing every single day for the rest of your relationship. It's nice to feel comfortable in a situation, but if you don't try new things, you'll never know how much fun they can be! What's the craziest date you've ever been on?
