Do you scoff at romantics and think they should live in the real world? Perhaps there is something you can learn from them. Being a romantic doesn't mean that you're totally unrealistic; it just means that you believe in love. And what's wrong with believing in something so beautiful? Here's what you can learn from romantics if you're a realist …
1. Being Positive
Romantics are usually very positive people who believe wholeheartedly in love. And it's so good to have a positive outlook; like begets like, so by being positive you'll bring more positive things into your life. You may not be a hopeless romantic yourself, but it's so worthwhile adopting their optimistic outlook.
2. Try, Try, Try Again
A true romantic doesn't let disappointment in love hold them back for long. They believe wholeheartedly that they can find a loving relationship, and will keep looking until they find one. Nor will they be kept down for long by disappointment. Take a lesson from them and keep trying until you find what you are looking for.
3. It's Good to Have Something to Believe in
Romantics believe in true love - and that's a belief that brings them a lot of happiness. It's worth having something to believe in, like they do. You're more likely to find what you're looking for if you believe it exists! So adopt their optimism and certainty that you too can find what you want.
4. If You Seek, You Will Find …
If you want a partner, you need to make an effort to meet people. Staying at home wishing Mr Wonderful would turn up isn't likely to get you anywhere. Romantics believe that your ideal partner could be out there anywhere, so be open to the possibility that you could meet him on your daily commute, in the library, volunteering … anywhere!
5. There's Someone out There for You
Most romantics believe that their Prince Charming is out there somewhere. Even if you think that the perfect man doesn't exist, there are still plenty of potential partners out there. Lots of guys are lovely, caring men who share your values. They may not be Mr Perfect, but they will be pretty darn good for you. So don't think that you're unlovable or not worth it - you are, and someone will agree!
6. Love is Beautiful
Love is a very beautiful thing. Don't we all want to be loved? Romantics treasure the existence of love and want to have it in their lives. This is something that we can all benefit from. So be glad that such a beautiful thing exists and treasure it whenever you have it.
7. Love Enhances Your Life
You don't need a partner to survive, but it can certainly enhance your life greatly. And there are many different forms of love, other than romantic love, such as your love for your friends, children or pets. Imagine a life without anyone to love - it sounds very empty. So appreciate the love that you have in your life!
Love is a wonderful part of our lives, and we should never be afraid to tell people we love them. Those three little words don't have to be saved for our partner - tell it to your kids, your parents and your friends! Who do you love most in your life?
