9 Ways to Tell You're Too Comfortable in Your Relationship ...

Being comfortable in your relationship is something that is so, so good – but how can you tell when you are too comfortable in your relationship? How can you tell when the manners have gone out the window and when your partner knows that you aren't going anywhere – no matter what? I've got the top ways to tell that you and him or her are too comfortable in your relationship and you may need to spice things up a little bit!

1 You Miss the Quiet Time to Yourself

Being too comfortable in your relationship is not necessarily a bad thing, but do you find yourself missing the quiet time to yourself? This is something that can actually cause a lot of resentment in a relationship. If you need some alone time, tell your partner. I am sure that they won't mind if you take off for a few hours, as long as they know where you are going.

Frequently asked questions

2 You Both Go to the Bathroom with the Door Open

This is something that is personal to each and every couple, but if you are super comfortable in your relationship, most of the time you don't keep any doors closed, even the bathroom door. While you might need some privacy for some things in the bathroom, a lot of the time, if you are comfortable with your partner, the bathroom doorway is a conversation place versus a barrier.

3 There Are No Real Manners Anymore

While not all manners go out the window when you are comfortable in a relationship, there are a lot of them that do. Like the not eating messy food? The constant 'politeness'? Those are things that fall away as you show your true colors and if your partner still loves you? That's perfect!

4 The Housework is Assumed Not Split

When it comes to being comfortable in your relationship, the housework isn't something that you typically split up (well, okay, some couples do – but most of the time, it's assumed!) Your partner is probably going to assume that it is going to get done, just like you. For example, if the trash is full – both of you filled it, so why is it one person's responsibility to take it out? It should be a mutual thing and it shouldn't be a fight!

5 You Know All of Their Moods/Faces

I think that this is one of the best parts of being comfortable in a relationship – your partner knowing everything about your moods and faces. Lyndsie (my fiance!) can tell when I am in a bad mood or when I am in a good mood just by looking at me. She can tell by the tone of my voice whether I am having a good day or a bad one and I love that!

6 You've Heard Every Single Joke

Okay, so if they start to look up jokes and start to tell them to you, this one might not apply, but most of the time, when you are comfortable in a relationship, you've heard every single joke, every single story and you love hearing them over and over again.

7 When a Compliment Comes, You Think There is an Ulterior Motive

When you are in a relationship that is super comfortable, most of the time, you don't get compliments every single day. When you do get compliments, often times you think that there is some type of ulterior motive for your partner! It's funny though, most of the time, they just think that you look really, really nice right?

8 You Can't Sleep without Your Partner

While sometimes it is nice to sleep without your partner, as you can spread out on the bed, there is also missing that person next to you. Now that Lyndsie and I have been together for 7 years, I have a really hard time sleeping without her. I realized that when I had to go on a few business trips recently and had to sleep in hotel rooms – it was horrible!

9 They Know when It's Time to Leave You Alone

Finally, the last way to be able to tell that you are too comfortable in your relationship is that your partner knows when it is a good time to leave you alone. They know when you are getting cranky and when it has absolutely nothing to do with them. Isn't that the best?

So girls and guys, this is just a few of the ways that you can tell that you are super comfortable in your relationship – and that isn't bad at all! How comfortable are you in your relationship? Give up the tips!
