My friends and I have discovered a new favourite playlist, consisting of the best songs to get over your ex. Don’t worry, we aren’t bitter (although I am writing this, alone, on Valentine’s Day – something that will never exactly breed contentment) – but we have all been through a rough time recently when it comes to the opposite sex. And so, there’s nothing better for boosting your confidence than getting ready to go out with a bottle of wine, your friends and a selection of the best songs to get over your ex bursting out as you go.
1. YOU DON’T IMPRESS ME MUCH
‘You don’t impress me much’ by Shania Twain has to be one of the best songs to get over your ex. Remember, did he really have the touch anyway? Her ‘Man! I feel like a woman’ is good too.

Pink said a while ago that, out of her, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera (they all got famous at similar times), everyone said at first that she was going to be the bad girl. She then said asked who are the troublemakers now? Pink is a great role model for young girls, and this song will have you feeling better in no time.

Katy Perry married Russell Brand and the whole world sat and waited for the inevitable news that he’d screwed her over. And he did – apparently filing for divorce just after Christmas without her knowing about it. ‘Part of Me’ was definitely her way of telling the world that she’d be happy again.
