1. No Sad Music or Movies
My first tip to moving on after a tough breakup is do not listen to sad music and don’t watch sad movies. We girls tend to do these things to make us feel even worse. It’s not going to help! Listen to upbeat music and watch funny movies, instead. It will help you feel better, or at least won’t make you feel worse.
2. Don’t Stalk Him
This may only apply to some people, so disregard if this doesn’t apply to you! But some of us have a tendency to stalk our ex’s social media websites. Seeing your ex partying and having the time of his life won’t make you feel any better. It also won’t help you move on! What you don’t know won’t kill you, so if you want to move on after a tough breakup, block his social media if you need to and don’t find another way to stalk him!
Frequently asked questions
3. Support
Another way to move on after a tough breakup is to find support. If you’re a teenager, don’t push your mom away because you’re sad and want to be alone. Finding support from mom is actually the best relief you’ll feel after a break up. A shoulder to cry on sometimes helps. So spend more time with your friends and family and people who love you!
4. Work
Focusing on work is a great way to distract you after a tough break up. You spend your time being productive and don’t focus so much on being sad or lonely. If you already have a job, continue doing your best at work! If you don’t work, I suggest taking this time to find a job you would enjoy and focus on that. This will help you stay productive and leave you less time to brood on the past.
5. School
If you’re a student in high school or college, take this time to do better in school. Put an extra effort into your school work. You will feel productive and proud of yourself. This is a great way to spend your time productively. This is a better way to spend your time instead of sulking in your sorrows and the results are worth it!
6. Hobbies
Along with work and school, hobbies are a great way to spend your time productively after a tough breakup. Do things you enjoyed doing before you were in a relationship, but never found the time to do. For example, if you enjoy working out, set a new schedule for your workout routines that will work with school and your job. That way, you will stay productive and focus on positive things that make you happy. This will make moving on way easier.
7. Explore
The best and most important way to move on after a tough breakup is simply to explore. Take this time to really find yourself. Many times, in a relationship, girls tend to lose themselves and who they are. This is the best time to find things you love doing, places you want to see, people you want to meet, and most importantly things that make you who you are! The best way to move on is to explore yourself, place and people around you, and what makes you – you!
I hope these steps on moving on after a tough breakup help some of you ladies out! They basically all come down to being independent, productive, and positive. What are some tips you suggest to moving on after a tough breakup?
