1. Throw a Party

One of the best ways for single girls to celebrate Valentine’s Day is to throw a party for all of your single friends-guys and girls. It’s not about hooking up with someone, just a group of people who choose not to be in a relationship at this point in time enjoying one another’s company. If you don’t have any single friends, not to worry. Have a movie marathon at home with your favorite classic movies or your celeb crushes. Relax in your comfy clothes, munch on your favorite snacks and relish in your singlehood.

2. Volunteer

Volunteering is a good idea any time of the year, but it’s a great way to celebrate your Valentine’s Day as well. Depending on where you live, there can be lots of great volunteering opportunities in the afternoon or early evening that you can take part in on Valentine’s. If there are no opportunities that you know of, why not get with some friends and make cards for a charity?

3. Plan a Trip

Who says you have to plan your Valentine’s Day activities in your hometown? Why not plan a fun trip somewhere you’ve always wanted to go that weekend? Whether it’s a day trip or you spend the whole weekend out, it’s a great way to just get away from it all and explore new people, food and places! Get your single girlfriends together, take a family member or spend some time alone to decompress.

4. Show Someone Love

Do you have a family member you don’t get to see very often? Valentine’s Day would be a great time to get together with them. Make your family member dinner, take them out to a movie or spend the night catching up and have a slumber party. Valentine’s Day is about love, but it doesn’t have to be romantic. Showing your family love will make you and your family member feel good and your evening will be filled with joy and love!

5. All about You

Valentine’s Day is a good time to have a “me” night. Spend it however you like, whether it’s treating yourself to a spa treatment, cooking yourself your favorite dinner or buying yourself some new clothes for spring. We often get so busy that we end up putting ourselves last, so Valentine’s is a perfect night to indulge in some “me” time.

6. Make Money

If you’re looking for more unconventional Valentine’s Day activities, why not use the day to make some extra money? Typically, florists look for extra help delivering flowers around this time and you probably won’t have a hard time finding a babysitting gig, either. If you would’ve otherwise spent the evening spending money, take the opportunity to make some extra dough for yourself or add it to your vacation fund.

7. Just Another Day

Lastly, remember that although Valentine’s Day is a “holiday,” it’s just another day. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to. Nothing is going to change if you decide not to do anything that day or night and just do what you normally do, like go to the gym, study or whatever. Don’t stress yourself out planning stuff or trying to do something if you don’t want to.

There are lots of ways for single girls to celebrate Valentine’s Day and I hope you were able to get some ideas for yourself. Remember, being single is fabulous and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. It’s much better to be single than unhappily in a relationship. I know it can get lonely, but you won’t be single forever and you have the freedom to spend your time however you want-take advantage of it! Do you have any ideas for Valentine’s Day activities that you’d like to add to this list?
