1. Cook a New Recipe

Cook a New Recipe My man and I love looking for new recipes to try, and cooking together is one of the most fun ideas to try with your significant other. We make a point to cook something new every weekend. We even try to keep track of all the recipes that we’ve cooked together! Cooking together is not only great for bonding, but it’s also a ton of fun and a good way to add a little bit of culinary adventure into your weekend!

2. Have a Movie Marathon

Have a Movie Marathon A movie marathon, a television marathon, whatever it is that you guys want to watch, use the weekend as a perfect excuse to just chill out and snuggle while watching a movie. We’ve gone through a Harry Potter marathon (that was awesome!), we just finished Breaking Bad (I know we were a bit behind), and we have a Disney marathon coming up next! Movie marathons are one of the best ideas to try with your significant other on the weekends; you have the time, so watch up!

3. Go to a Local Event

Go to a Local Event I love going to local events. It’s so much fun to go out about town and rediscover places with the person that you love. One of the most low-key, yet adventurous dates to try with your significant other over the weekend is by spending it in your town, seeing old places in a new light. Find a farmers market, a carnival, a fair, anything that piques your interest, and take a drive (or a walk) and go local!

4. Do Something Seasonal

Do Something Seasonal Embracing the seasons to let them guide your weekend plans is one of the best things to try with your significant other. I live in Toronto, so all 4 seasons are very, very distinct. Because of that, we have to take in every season with full gusto (especially summer)! In the fall, take a walk and look at the gorgeous leaves. Come spring, why not find a gorgeous park and go biking through it? Find something that ushers in the seasons, and enjoy the activities together!

5. Wine, Games, and Fun, Oh My!

Wine, Games, and Fun, Oh My! Wine is classy. Wine is a good way to relax. Wine, laughter, and games are something fantastic that you should definitely try! Now I’m not the biggest gamer in the world, but having a nice glass of red, playing Guitar Hero (or Grand Theft Auto in my case), and laughing about how much I suck is actually a heck of a lot of fun. Video games don’t have to automatically ignite brooding moods from you, just find a way to make it fun for the both of you!

6. Hang out with Friends and Family

Hang out with Friends and Family The weekend is your down time, and it’s the time to catch up with your friends and family. So why not spend some bonding time with some of the most important people in your life with the love of your life? It’s one of the best ideas to try with your significant at any time. It’s low-key, it’s fun, and it’s also a great way to create a whole new set of memories!

7. Go on a Day Trip

Go on a Day Trip Of all the ideas to try with your significant other this weekend, going on a day trip is the most adventurous, fun, and exciting. Whether you guys go to a drive in movie theatre, take a trip to the country, or even go somewhere for a nice hike, a day trip is a like a nice little weekend escape! So be it an art gallery, a museum, wherever, just make a plan, and go this weekend!

Now that you’re armed with a list full of weekend plans, it’s time to go ahead and make those plans happen! Whether you’re relaxing, going out, or just taking it slow to recoup from your long workweek, there’s a fun weekend idea for everyone. So tell me, what are you and your significant other planning to do this weekend?
