Are you confused about your sexuality? You aren’t alone if you fall into this category. Many women and men feel this way from all over the world. Even though it’s 2018, talking about sexuality is still taboo. There are many reasons why it is but let’s not get into that. This article is to help you feel not so alone. To know that this is very natural and there’s nothing wrong with you. I’ve been there myself. Realizing that how I was living wasn’t who I was. That these feelings that would creep up weren’t things that other women felt.

When you finally embrace that you might not identify as straight, many emotions take over. Fear, loathing, happiness, belonging, but a lot of the time its confusion that takes the number one spot. Not knowing where to turn or what to do.

Luckily, there are many ways to deal with this confusion. Sometimes there are local support groups, there are websites online for help, but something I found comforting and gave me a sense of belonging was confiding in books. So, are you confused about your sexuality? Get reading.

When I realized I was a lesbian, I was fortunate enough to know a few in the LGBT community. However, they also had lives and problems of their own. What did I do? I took to the internet. Browsing for comfort in books. They helped and made me know things would be better. That there are people who will accept you for you. That even if you faced rejection for who you are, you will be ok. Keep in mind that just because you identify as one thing doesn’t mean a book that is mainly about the opposite won’t help. For example, you can identify as a lesbian but sometimes even reading books targeted more toward dealing with being a gay man can be eye-opening and helpful.
