Lying about Little Things

This is definitely one of the dating habits to let go of if you want to meet your future better half. Even though you might think that a few little white lies will hurt no one, this is one of the biggest mistakes you can make at the beginning of a relationship. Try to be honest and be yourself, no matter what, because the right person will love you for who you are and not for who you pretend to be.

Dominating the Conversation

I know you have a lot of interesting things to say, but try not to dominate the conversation and allow your date to say what’s on their mind too. Try to get to know them better and listen carefully to what they are telling you, since every conversation requires a minimum of two partners.

I’m sure you already know how impolite it is to talk on your phone while you’re on a date. The same thing goes for texts too. Your phone should remain in your bag or in your pocket and if you’re expecting an important call or an important message, excuse yourself and go to the bathroom to check it out or let your date beforehand the call might be coming.

Oversharing on the First Date

Sometimes, too much information can be damaging and that’s why you should avoid oversharing on the first date. Be patient and get to know that other person better before you tell them that you want three kids and a small house in the mountains.

Talking about Your Ex Too Much

Even though you haven’t been able yet to move on and forget your ex and even if you still have feelings for them, avoid bringing them into discussion too often. Don’t dwell on your past! What’s done it’s done; you should try to focus on your date so you’ll be able to discover the wonderful person sitting next to you.

Instagramming Your Food

Even though your food looks amazing and your cocktails are a work of art, try to share those things with your date and not with the people who follow you on Instagram. Focus on what’s going on right there, on your date and have fun together. Enjoy each other’s company and try to forget about all those things that may distract your attention.

Not Being Yourself

Even if you feel insecure or you fear that your date might not like the real you, don’t pretend that you’re someone else or someone you’re not, just because you think that this way, your date might like you better. The right person for you will love you just the way you are, with all your imperfections and with all your flaws, so there’s no need to hide them, because in their eyes, you’ll be perfect just the way you are.

It’s not easy going on dates and trying to find your soul mate. Even if you haven’t found them so far, you shouldn’t give up; just keep trying, because good things happen when you least expect it. Do you know any other dating habits to let go of? Do tell!
