Bri: I remember praying and asking why I didn't have a good guy in my life. one day, 5 years ago ( i was 16) I met this guy online and he always made me feel special. Even when I told him that long distance wouldn't work he never gave up. He was always there when someone else broke my heart. Patt: Good article. Please let me share my LDR story. 9 years ago, I met a guy in Ohio. I was an exchange student from Thailand and he's from Michigan. We worked a summertime job together. One day, my friend told me he liked me then I started noticing him and liked him more and more when we were spending time together. Unfortunately, I left as I had to go back to my country to finish my degree while I never told him that I liked him too. We communicated through emails and online chatting later and told how we were feeling towards each other. I kept sending him love letters and pictures very often. One year later, he told me he's been seeing a girl and thought our LDR didn't work. He didn't love me anymore but did still care for me. We have still continued to be friends after that. He finally got married with the girl after they'd been together for 4 years. I'd moved to the US about a year before they got married. A year after he's married, he got a daughter, and 2 years later (last year), he was proceeding a divorce. I feel so sorry for him. and well, we now get back together in LDR since October last year, but this time is a closer one. He said he learned a lot from his marriage and grew up enough to come back to me this time. He now lives in FL and I'm Boston. We both still keep a room in our hearts for each other and I forgive him. Last month was a wonderful month because we had a chance to meet up again. It was so amazing how we still feel the same. People say we both look happy, and yes definitely, we are. This time we won't make our LDR longer than a year since we know what we want and we are much closer than before, also with better technologies that keep us communicated all the time. My love may sound so complicated but it is amazing. I forgot the past and start a new beginning with the same man. Now, we are moving forward and have a great outlook together on our lives.
