1. You Can Choose Who Hurts You

Unfortunately, it's impossible to live life without getting hurt. Your heart is going to get broken, possibly more than once. However, it will be worth it when you find the right person. As Augustus says to Hazel: "It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you." One of the important lessons from The Fault in Our Stars is that it's impossible to avoid heartache.

2. True Love Overcomes Difficulties

Hazel and Gus love each other, but their health problems make their relationship difficult. Even though they know that one of them will die, they stay together. They can't remain as only friends, because their feelings are too strong. Despite their struggles, they're able to make their relationship work, because they truly love each other.

3. People Are the Best Gifts

Wishes can come true, but they may not always occur in the way you think you want them to. The Genies helped Hazel and Augustus get to Amsterdam, but the real gift wasn't meeting their favorite author. The best part of their trip was the time they spent together. Of course, they didn't need to travel to a fancy location in order to have a great time. They had a great time whenever they were together.

4. Life Goes on

When a friend or boyfriend's life ends, your life doesn't end with it. Even when you love someone with all of your heart, you'll be able to survive without them. It won't be easy, but you can do it. It's what they would want.

If you're looking to engage your partner in intriguing conversations, why not try some hypothetical questions for couples? These fun queries will not only keep the conversation lively but also stimulate deep thoughts and potentially reveal insights about each other's personality and thought processes.

5. You'll Meet Him when You Least Expect It

Hazel never expected to fall in love with someone like Augustus, but it happened. She wasn't searching for a guy to make her happy. She just happened to stumble upon someone who changed her life. Most of the time, you'll find your perfect man when you least expect it. Life is always surprising.

6. Enjoy the "Now"

Even if you're perfectly healthy, you can't tell how much time you have left on this Earth. You should enjoy every moment that you can, and appreciate all of the people around you. Don't take anything for granted, because you're lucky to be alive. Live in the moment.

7. Actions Speak Louder than Words

Anyone can see that Hazel and Gus truly love each other. They didn't drown each other in affection like Isaac and Monica, because they didn't have to do so. They knew how much they cared for each other, and they showed it with their actions.

The Fault in Our Stars is an inspiring novel that makes you really think about your life. You never know when you're going to lose someone close to you, so make sure you let them know how much you care while you still can. Whether you've read the book twenty times or have just seen the movie, what is your favorite line?
