One of the very top traits of healthy relationships is that there is safety. There should never be a reason to worry when you are with your partner. A true partner will protect you from any possible danger rather than be that danger. There are also other types of safety in your relationship. A healthy relationship offers you the safety to be real with one another without fear of judgment.

2. Honesty

Another one of the traits of healthy relationships is the ability to be open with one another in truthfulness. If you don’t have honesty, you don’t have much to work with. Honesty is one of the very basic traits of a healthy relationship. You need to know that your partner will always be truthful with you, even when it is difficult. This doesn’t mean that you need to say things harshly because they are true. Tact and honesty can coexist.

3. Trust

Trust is another basic building block of healthy relationships. You need to know that your partner is trustworthy. They should be as good as their word. Additionally, you need to do your best to also be someone worthy of trust. When partners can trust one another, magic can happen.

4. Love

Of course you need love in your relationship. That is almost always what brings you together. It is also what keeps you together. When you love one another you can weather almost any storm. Love is also something that will grow stronger with time if you nurture it.

This is what commitment is all about, committing to be faithful to one another for the length of your relationship. It is what makes your relationship special and unique. There is an inner circle no one else can enter into when you have faithfulness.
