The longer you stay in an unhealthy relationship, the more altered your mentality will become, and this will go on to have an impact on any future relationships that you have. Your self-esteem is probably at rock bottom. This is tricky because it is the relationship that is negatively affecting it, but at the same time, you are afraid to leave because it is so low. It is a vicious cycle to be in.
Bad relationships often don’t allow you to truly be yourself and live in your own self-image. You are most likely editing and changing yourself to try to satisfy the wants of your partner, and that is not a good situation to be in.

Every ounce of focus you have will be directed toward the unhealthy relationship, which means that you will start to miss out in other areas of your life that are deserving of your attention too.
At the end of the day, your happiness is the thing that matters most in your life. If you find that being in the relationship does the opposite of that, then you owe it to yourself to get the hell out and start fresh. It might be scary to consider, but it is the only option to take from this point.
