7 Surefire Ways to Land a Boyfriend This School Year ...

By Holly

Whether you're in high school or college, there are ways to land a boyfriend that you should keep in mind. While there are more important things in life than boys, it's normal to wish you were in a relationship. Everybody wants to be loved, so don't feel ashamed of your desires. If you're struggling to enter a relationship, here are some ways to land a boyfriend:

1. Choose Wisely

Don't go after the wrong guy. Sometimes it's hard to tell which boy is worth pursuing, but you'll be able to figure it out eventually. One of the easiest ways to land a boyfriend is to stop paying attention to looks and start focusing on personality. It's easier to land a guy who has a lot in common with you than a random dude who looks hot in his basketball jersey.

Keep an eye out for those shared interests and hobbies which pave the way to engaging conversations and meaningful connections. If he’s passionate about music and you can talk for hours about your favorite bands, that’s a solid start. Attraction is more than skin deep, and finding someone who gets you on a personal level will lead to a more fulfilling relationship. Remember, a sparkling personality can make someone even more appealing than their outward appearance, and shared laughter can be incredibly attractive. So, dive into those deeper waters and look for a connection that transcends the superficial.

2. Put Yourself out There

Even if you find the perfect guy for you, he'll never be your boyfriend if you sit quietly in the corner. You have to walk over and introduce yourself, or at least smile at him from across the room. If you want him to know that you exist, then say hello. It's not as scary as it sounds.

3. Dress to Impress

If you hate wearing skirts and dresses, don't wear them. You can still look fabulous while wearing outfits that you're comfortable in, so if you like plain old jeans, make sure you find a pair that fits your body nicely. You don't have to change your entire wardrobe in order to get a boy's attention. Wear what you like, but make sure it's flattering.

4. Be a Social Butterfly

The more people you meet, the higher the chance that one of them will introduce you to your future boyfriend. Even if you don't think your lab partner is cute, try to become friends with him, because he might invite you to a party filled with hot guys. Make connections. It's good practice for the future.

If you're looking to engage your partner in intriguing conversations, why not try some hypothetical questions for couples? These fun queries will not only keep the conversation lively but also stimulate deep thoughts and potentially reveal insights about each other's personality and thought processes.

5. Keep Your Options Open

It's nice when you find one guy that you genuinely like and want to date. However, there's nothing wrong with liking multiple people at once. That way, you won't be as upset when one boy doesn't like you back, because there are plenty of others you can focus on instead.

***

Before you decide to put all your emotional eggs in one basket, remember that you’re at a stage where exploration is key. Dating is not an all-or-nothing game—it’s perfectly acceptable, and quite healthy, to get to know different personalities. This doesn’t mean you're being disloyal or indecisive; think of it as casting a wider social net. By interacting with various types of people, you learn more about your preferences and what truly makes you happy. Just ensure you're clear and honest with your intentions to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings.

6. Learn Patience

Don't assume that the boy you spent all night texting tonight will be your boyfriend tomorrow. It takes time to build a relationship. These things don't just happen overnight, and when they do, they don't last long. If you want to be in a serious relationship, then you should give it time for you and the guy to get to know each other before you start making out. There's no rush.

7. Love Yourself

It sounds incredibly corny, but you have to learn to love yourself. Once you do, you'll be more confident than you've ever been before. It's one of the traits that men like best in women, so flaunt it.

Being in a relationship isn't the most important thing in the world, but it can feel like it is when you're young and all of your friends are already part of a couple. You shouldn't stress if you don't find a boyfriend this year, but stay hopeful. Have you ever been on a date before?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Just remember that a boyfriend is not the main goal in life! And you shouldn't feel desperate to find one.

I think landing a boyfriend is the least important thing a young girl can do, no offense. How about get straight As? Form a new club at school? Win a medal or trophy in her sport?

I'm not attracted to anyone at my highschool. I'm very social and friends with everyone, but there's nobody there I would date. #forever alone

3 and 7 so true

#7 should be #1, the rest is pretty much crap

Me too but I am an old lady met someone online I thought he was genuine but he would disappear months on end saying it his job! Then surface for a short while only wanted a physical relationship now on then never took me out never call me. Text only recently said he cannot have relationships for many reasons! This was in response to me asking why can't we meet in the evenings and weekends rather than early mornings! Very up set as I like him very much feel very hurt! Very scared now destine to remain single for ever
